"Impressive concentration, freshness and purity here. It's all gently enriched with some savory, autolysis-driven characters. Truly a modern classic! Showing attractive spiced-apple, lemon and pink rose-like florals on the palate, this flows nicely into white-cherry territory with grilled hazelnuts and a core of sorbet-like fleshy peaches and lemons. Great balance. Drink now." James Suckling.

About the Producer

Founded in 1829 in Aye, Bollinger belongs to the Bizot and d'Hautefeuille families, and is run by Mr Jérôme Philippon. Bollinger owns a 163 hectares vineyard, mainly planted with Pinot Noirs. A rich and complex champagne, Special Cuvée is a true ambassador for the House, who also elaborates long ageing vintage champagnes such as La Grande Année Blanc and Rosé; Bollinger R.D (for Recently Disgorged), and the champagne "Vieilles Vignes Françaises" whose grapes come from two small plots of préphylloxérical vines. La Côte aux Enfants is a red still wine, in Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée Coteaux Champenois.
