"The most structured of the Signature releases, the deep ruby/purple-colored 2010 Chateauneuf du Pape Signature (65% Grenache, 15% Mourvedre, 12% Syrah and the balance other permitted varieties) is still backward and tight. Giving up classic notes of black raspberries, black cherry, crushed rocks, pepper and garrigue, this full-bodied, concentrated, pure and fabulously textured red needs to be forgotten for another 2-3 years. It will have two decade of overall longevity." Jeb Dunnuck

About the Producer

Laetita and Julien Barrot have managed Domaine la Barroche since the early 2000s. This prestigious domaine in Châteauneuf-du-Pape has sandy and limestone soil. The vineyard consists largely of old Grenache vines, complemented by Mourvèdre, Syrah, Cinsault, Clairette Blanche, and Vaccarèse. The wine is aged for an average of 18 months in various sorts of containers: foudres (large casks), barrels, and concrete vats. Cuvée Signature has fresh ripe fruit aromas and Pure, made from century-old Grenache vines, is extremely smooth and elegant.
