Domaine Arretxea

The Arretxea estate, or "House of Stone" in the Basque language, was originally a family farm that Michel Riouspeyrous took over in 1989.
The steep slopes of vines facing south, planted in terrasses, are cultivated using the biodynamics technics.

The cuvées "Schistes" and "Grès" are built around a skeleton of saltiness and tension: both are made with the grape varieties Petit and Gros Manseng.

As for the reds, the Haitza cuvée is dominated by Tannat, and gains in suppleness and richness with each passing vintage.
