Domaine de Montcalmès

The Montcalmès estate already found its place on the finest parisian tables fifteen years ago, while the region of Laguedoc suffered of its reputation of wines that were too massive.
Frédéric Pourtalier first worked in Burgundy, and the 22 hectares vineyard follows evidently a philosophy in the pursuit of freshness.
Three grape varieties compose the blend in Terrasses du Larzac, and each of them finds its ease on different soil types: Chalk stones for…
syrah and grenache, rounded stones for the mourvèdre.
The slors are vinified separately, before an ageing of two years minimum. The result is sappy and complex. The Grenache cuvée is juicier, to enjoy now on a duck roast, with provence herbs.
