Domaine Saint Prefert

A great Lady of Grenache, Isabel Ferrando delivers here a delicate and plump style of the Châteauneuf du Pape appellation. A myriad of grape varieties are drawing here a puzzle of unique soils, through rounded stones and blue limestone, under extreme climate. The winegrower insists in her approach of a "vintage" effect, trying to reveal the charm of more complicated vintages, and to limit the vibrancy of more sundrenched vintages. If Châteauneuf is a blend region, the grape varieties used in corrections play a major part. Paying homage to the Cinsault grape variety in the Auguste Favier cuvée, it refers to the mourvèdre in the Charles Giraud Cuvée. These wines really shine and seem so comforting in winter times, with their silky touch and powder-like tanins. The Vieilles Clairettes du Domaine, real monuments of tension and of flesh, awakes and seduces the amateur of Burgundy.
