The producer

Clos de Tart

Clos de Tart was founded in 1141 by nuns from the Abbaye de Tart. The 7.53 hectares of vines in a single block belong to François Pinault, who took over in october 2017 from the Mommessin family, owners since 1932. The vineyard was managed for many years by Sylvain Pitiot and recently passed into the capable hands of Jacques Devosges. Clos de Tart is located in Morey-Saint-Denis, between the communes of Chambolle-Musigny and Gevrey-Chambertin. It is the largest grand cru in Burgundy with a single owner. The average age of the vines is 60 years, although some are over a century old.
