Domaine Ballorin & F.

The Domaine Ballorin was founded in 2005, at the heart of Côte de Nuits. The Estate comprises eight hectares of vines, handeled with respect for the soils (the whole is ran with biodynamics principles). The grapes receive no intrant, except for a little sulphites in the difficult years. In the glass, the juices appear very lively! We really liked the Marsannay Clos du Roy. The pinots grow their strength from the chalk gravels of the Chenôve hillside, and this density is paired with a mineral character, this is a wine of great class. The Nuits Saint Georges Belle Croix is sappy and explosive, its nose giving hints of small wild berries of red fruits. It would be worth waiting for a year or two though, and let the tanins really melt.
