Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe

The Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe has been managed by the Brunier family since 1991. Frédéric and Daniel Brunier represent the fifth generation of winegrowers, guardians of the plateau de la Crau. The place, composed of a thick layer of pebbles, allows the grapes to retain freshness and cope with climatic hazards. The wines always bear an impressive minerality, as great soils always do. This freshness has become over the years (more than 120 to this date!), a true signature of the Estate. At the Domaine, winegrowing methods are inspired from organic viticulture. Grapes are harvested by hand, and it is not rare to pick and sort the grapes twice. Manual pruning, green harvest, leaf removal and butterfly sexual confusion are among a few ways for the winemakers to reduce their environmental impact. At the cellar, vintage conditions will have direct effect on the vinification profile: maceration length, cap punching frequency, wine pumping…The style and identity of the Estate shines through the classical Châteauneuf-du-Pape : grenache makes up the majority of the blend (65%), while mourvèdre and syrah are also present (15% respectively). The wine ages almost two years in vats before bottling with no fining nor filtration.
