Domaine de la Bongran

Located in Clessé, the Domaine de la Bongran is owned by Jean and Gauthier Thévenet, father and son. Here is a vineyard that stands out by their faithfullness to a tradition of the Mâcon area, now lost: the elaboration of wines "levroutés". These wines are so to speak off-dry (the bottled juices still bear some residual sugar), as in for example the cuvée E.J Thévenet 2014 (3,5 gr of residual sugar/liter). This mesmerizing chardonnay is held together by a magic balance, between opulence and tension. The aromatics of acacia honey permits subtle pairings, with fishes marinated is white miso.
