Domaine Xavier Monnot

Meursault seems to be a rallying place for a few thrilling winegrowers, each bringing their own touch in establishing the village as model for great whites of Côte d’Or. Among these engaged women and men, is Xavier Monnot. The winemaker works his 17 hectares in coherence with the terroirs of Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet, and uses modern winemaking techniques to make his wines very accessible in their youth. The white burgundy is always very open and expressive. We recommend to wait a couple years after bottling for the 1er Crus to integrate their wood. With such maturation of his 1er Crus, Xavier gives them the potential to stand the test of time, and delivers dense, mouth-watering, broad and long wines. The Estate’s Meursault 1er Cru Les Charmes is one of the most impressive of the Côte d’Or.
