Ludovic Chanson

Ludovic Chanson is a former biochemical engineer, who left the pharmaceutical industry after having been laid off. His encounter with Vincent Carême in Vouvray was decisive, and allowed him to take on the challenge of making wine. He settled in Montlouis in 2009, and ran his six hectares Estate in organic viticulture from the get-go. All plots are composed of clay-sandy soils, that Ludovic choses to assemble, to converge towards a unique style: a pure and crystalline chenin. Les Cabotines is a dry white wine, clear as a mountain stream. This chenin is easy-to-drink, aerial and refined. The Implicite cuvée is aged 24 months in oak barrels, and can still hold some residual sugar. Broad shouldered, it should be kept several years beforereaching its full potential.
