How to create an account?

Creating an account is simple! Just go to the account creation page by clicking here. Please note that if your email address is already used for an existing account, account creation will not be possible, you will need to reset your password.
Important: To finalize your account creation, you must click on the validation link sent by email.
Note: You can place an order on La Cave du Château website without creating an account, but creating an account will allow you to track your orders, access your order history, and easily save your different addresses.

Change my email or password

To update your email address and/or password, simply log in to your account and go to the "account information" section.

I can no longer access my account

Please make sure you are on the login page and not the account creation page. If you attempt to log in with an email address not associated with any account, an error message will be displayed. You will then need to create an account or order as a guest (without creating an account).

Can I link an online order to my account?

If you have placed an order as a guest, it will unfortunately not be possible to link it to your history. For any questions regarding your order tracking, please contact us by email at contact@lacaveduchateau.com.

Your order history is available in your account, in the "my orders" section. Please note that only orders placed while logged in to your account will be present there.

I want to subscribe to newsletters

You can subscribe to our newsletters on the website in the dedicated banner at the bottom of the page. You will need to validate your subscription by clicking on the confirmation link sent by email. To ensure you receive our newsletters, feel free to add La Cave du Château sender to your contacts. PAYMENTS

What payment methods are accepted online?

We accept the following methods: debit and credit cards (including American Express), Paypal, Apple Pay, Bancontact (Belgium), Ideal (Netherlands), EPS (Austria), as well as bank transfers.

How to pay by bank transfer?

For online orders above a certain amount, we accept payment by bank transfer. This is managed by Mollie, our payment service provider. You will need to follow the instructions sent in Mollie's email, including clearly indicating the Mollie payment reference number "RF…….." in the detail field of your transfer, and strictly adhering to the indicated amount.
In case of forgetting the payment reference number or an amount error, the transfer will be automatically returned to you.

Refunds

An order that has not been shipped can be canceled and refunded within the next 14 days. The refund will be effective in an average of 3 business days, to the method used for payment. Please send your request to contact@lacaveduchateau.com.

La Cave du Château is proud to showcase the best of the French vineyard, with over 4000 references of exceptional wines, champagnes, and spirits. All regions and types of agriculture are represented with a single keyword: excellence.
La Cave du Château also boasts a team of passionate individuals, including our sommeliers-cavistes, who will be delighted to guide you through the cellar and meet your needs, whatever they may be.

Who owns La Cave du Château?

La Cave du Château belongs to the Dillon family, owners of Domaine Clarence Dillon, which includes Châteaux Haut-Brion, La Mission Haut-Brion, Château Quintus, as well as the Clarendelle and Klara families, the two-Michelin-starred restaurant Le Clarence, and the trading entity Clarence Dillon Wines.

ORDERS

Preparation times

The preparation times for your order may vary depending on the case. If all wines are at the same site, the order will be processed within the day and shipped within 24 hours. However, it regularly happens that some wines are in our warehouse and others in the cellar. In this specific case, we take care to group everything before shipping or making it available for cellar pickup.
This grouping is done once a week (Tuesday or Wednesday, or twice a week during busier periods like wine fairs, end of year, etc.). We will notify you in these cases, and we can expedite the grouping of your wines if there is an urgency. Do not hesitate to contact us by email at contact@lacaveduchateau.com for specific delivery instructions, or indicate them in the dedicated field when placing your online order.
When your order is shipped or ready for cellar pickup, you will receive an email notification.

Can I add a wine to my order?

Yes, it is entirely possible to add a wine to your order if it has not yet been shipped. Otherwise, a new order will need to be placed.
Some wines visible on the website are only available upon request or in store. Do not hesitate to send us an addition request by email at contact@lacaveduchateau.com; we will do our best to fulfill your requests, and the supplement can be paid remotely via a secure payment link provided by us. A shipping cost adjustment is possible if the price bracket is exceeded as a result of this addition.

Can I modify my current order?

Any order that has not yet been shipped or picked up from the cellar can indeed be modified or canceled within 14 calendar days. Please contact us at contact@lacaveduchateau.com for your request.

I have special instructions for my order

I want to purchase for a later shipment

We can hold your order for some time before shipping if you are traveling, on vacation, or if temperatures are too high. Do not hesitate to contact us by email at contact@lacaveduchateau.com or specify this request in the "delivery instructions" field when placing your online order.

Storage of my orders

As of today, we do not offer long-term storage service for your wines. We can hold your order for some time before shipping if you are traveling, on vacation, or if temperatures are too high. We request that orders available for cellar pickup be ideally collected within 3 weeks of being made available.

Urgent orders

Do not hesitate to contact us by email at contact@lacaveduchateau.com or call the boutique for any urgency, or indicate it in the dedicated field when placing your online order. For same-day cellar pickup, it is essential to verify that the stock is already available in the boutique, information verifiable on the product page by clicking on "view in-store stock" or by contacting us at the above address.

What stock is available in store?

The details of our available stocks in our three boutiques are visible on the product pages, by clicking on "view in-store stock". When the wine is not immediately available in store, it can still be transported there from our warehouse upon order, during the next weekly replenishment (Tuesdays or Wednesdays).

Tax-free orders

La Cave du Château website is primarily aimed at individuals, therefore prices are displayed inclusive of tax. No tax-free sales will be made for French companies; however, in case of shipment within the EU, with a valid intra-community VAT number, it is possible to benefit from tax-free prices. To do this, you need to create your account on the site and add a default delivery address with the said VAT number in the address book.
All orders shipped outside the European Union will be payable tax-free; however, duties and taxes may be claimed by the local carrier upon delivery of the order.
Do not hesitate to contact us for an estimate of duties and taxes before shipment.

Can I have gift wrapping?

If you would like gift wrapping for your wines, please indicate it in the "delivery instructions" field when placing your order.
Your bottles will then be covered with elegant tissue paper with a wax seal of La Cave du Château logo.
You also have the option to leave a gift message at the "cart" and "payment" stages, which will be included with your order.
No worries, no invoice will be attached to the shipment.
Finally, for pickups or purchases in our boutiques, gift boxes are available upon request.

Can I offer a gift voucher?

It is entirely possible to visit the boutique to offer a gift card of your chosen amount, redeemable in store or on our website.

I am looking for a rare wine / the wine is indicated as available in store only

Despite a very fine selection of over 4000 references offered online on our website, some rare wines may not be sold online for various reasons. Do not hesitate to contact us for any specific requests at contact@lacaveduchateau.com.

Can I get a quote?

What delivery services are available?

Cellar pickup: Paris, Bordeaux Tourny, Pessac
Home delivery: via UPS or other carriers in France and abroad

I have a problem with my order

Despite our extremely careful packaging, total or partial breakage can occur.
If you have accepted your package, please take photos of the package and all the bottles. We will handle the claim and ship you the missing bottle(s). Please contact us at contact@lacaveduchateau.com
Important: Before accepting a damaged package, you must absolutely make a reservation with the carrier, otherwise we cannot guarantee coverage for this breakage.
If you have refused the package, we will reship your order once the return is received and the count is done to confirm any missing items. Please contact us at contact@lacaveduchateau.com to inform us of the situation.
In cases where a broken bottle cannot be replaced identically, we will offer you another vintage at the same price, an alternative, a refund, or a credit note for the amount of the bottle, according to your preferences.
Regarding defective bottles (corked, oxidized, maderized, etc.), we ask you to keep the opened bottle and notify us as soon as possible at contact@lacaveduchateau.com or by phone at the relevant boutique.
We recommend, first and foremost, that you ensure the bottle has been prepared under adequate conditions (aeration, decanting, temperature), as wine is inherently complex and alive.

EN PRIMEUR

How En Primeur works

The term En Primeur (or "in primeur") is used in Bordeaux to refer to a pre-order system for wines from Bordeaux Châteaux, 12 to 18 months before they are bottled and available on the market (once aging is complete).
The main advantage of buying En Primeur is access to great wines at the best price without having to worry about future availability.
You can order your En Primeur wines directly on our website, in store, or by email at primeurs@lacaveduchateau.com.
We accept payments by credit card, Paypal (on the website), remote orders can be paid by bank transfer or via a secure payment link provided by us.
Wine orders are placed inclusive of tax. Wines can be ordered individually and be subject to special requests (large formats, individual wooden cases...).
You will be notified of the availability of your wines as soon as we receive them (2 years later) to arrange delivery.
We offer you the possibility to pick up your purchases for free in one of our 3 boutiques. Careful and insured delivery of your wines and wooden cases in France and abroad is also possible. Any delivery costs will be assessed according to the rate in force when your wines are invoiced.

I want large formats

By default, we offer En Primeur wines in 75cl bottle format, but it is entirely possible to convert these bottles into magnums or larger. Do not hesitate to indicate this wish in the delivery instructions of your online order or by email at primeurs@lacaveduchateau.com or contact@lacaveduchateau.com.

I want original wooden cases (CBO)

For any order of a full case (6 bottles), the original wooden case will be available. For specific requests for a single wooden case for one bottle, please contact us by email at primeurs@lacaveduchateau.com or contact@lacaveduchateau.com.

When will I receive my En Primeur wines?

En Primeur wines sold in year N are wines from year N-1 and will be available in N+2 years.
Thus, in 2025, we are selling the 2024 En Primeur wines, and you will be notified of their availability as soon as we receive them in spring 2027 to arrange delivery.

Note that some Châteaux are primarily sold En Primeur and are therefore very difficult to find afterwards.
