Domaine Marc Colin et Fils

At the origin of the creation of the Domaine in the 80's, Marc Colin and his wife Michèle owned six hectares of vineyards in the towns of Chassagne Montrachet and Saint Aubin. They expanded gradually, and their children Caroline and Damien now own 12 hectares. They rapidly became interested in organic farming and tillage in order to avoid chemical weeding. If the Domaine radiates on the Côte d'Or, with mainly whites, it offers a small confidential production of red wines: juicy pinots noirs spread between the Santenay, Chassagne Montrachet and Saint Aubin appellations. More than ever, the family produces the best of Chardonnay, through a mosaic of terroirs of choice. Among them is the Saint Aubin En Montceau, always dashing and open in its tender youth. Accessible, it is a wonderful introduction to the wines of the Domain. The Puligny Montrachet Le Trézin impresses with its power and its bouquet of white flowers and linden. It is a wine, however, which will have to be kept at least two years in order to give it time to fully mature and to appreciate its balance. As you will understand, this is a must-see Domain, which helps to make the wine-growing part of Burgundy eternally proud.
