Domaine Alain Graillot

Domaine Alain Graillot, a true benchmark of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation, now spans more than twenty hectares of meticulously tended vineyards. Since founding the estate in 1985, Alain Graillot has shaped a distinctive winemaking philosophy rooted in traditional, terroir-driven practices: deliberately low yields, short pruning to intensify concentration, and soils worked with a plough to preserve soil life and express the pure character of the Chassis plain. While the estate is best known for its emblematic reds crafted from Syrah, it also cultivates a small plot dedicated to the region’s traditional white grape varieties: Marsanne and Roussanne. These grapes produce refined white wines marked by lively freshness, floral notes, and generous texture—proof of the family’s expertise in both red and white winemaking. Today, Maxime Graillot, Alain’s son, has taken over the estate with talent and precision. Remaining faithful to the family philosophy, he continues to craft structured, precise, and expressive wines, always placing terroir at the forefront. Under his leadership, the estate maintains its status as a leading reference in the northern Rhône.
