Domaine d'Eugénie

The Domaine Engel was taken over by François Pinault in 2006, and was renamed Domaine d'Eugénie. Colossal works have been put into place at the cellar in order to streamline the vinifications, and to raise the level of the wines. If the estate is located in Vosne-Romanée, some single vineyards are also to be found in Côte-de-Beaune. In total, 4.5 hectares of plots make up the Estate, across nine appellations. No chemicals enter the soils, and the biological principles rule the work in the vineyard. The Grand Cru Echezeaux has benefited since 2010 of this dynamic winegrowing method. The 2020 harvest will celebrate the conversion of the Estate to biological viticulture. This breath of life translates into the wines: they show a common thread of purity, delicacy and vibrancy. On the village cuvées, the proportion of new oak never exceeds 40%. Among the climats of the Estate, let us focus on the Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Brûlées: this soil gives birth to a racy and rounded wine. The full power of pinot noir, in a bottle!
