Clos Venturi

Domain presentation

Clos Venturi

Corsica, "l'Ile de Beauté" boasts a rich and fertile soil. Fully aware of the outstanding qualities of this terroir, Manu Venturi took over from his father in 2005. The Estate is located at the heart of Ponte Leccia, in Central Crorsica, at the crossroads of Bastia, Ajaccio and Calvi, at an altitude of 350 m above sea level. From the get go, the winegrower tackled the tremendous task of re-introducing native grape varieties. Velmentinu, Nielluccio, Sciaccarello, Bianco Gentile, Genovese...Clos Venturi is in itself like a museum of grape varieties, and the cuvées often assemble grapes from the North and South of the island. The vines are cultivated in organic viticulture, using indigenous yeasts. At the cellar, Manu Venturi diversifies his equipment to meet his needs and experiments: vats, stainless steel tanks and egg-shaped cement tanks. The white wine is clearly one of the best expressions of Vermentino on the island: planted at a high altitude, on schists, it offers great texture and succulence. The "Chiesa Nera" cuvées are worth discovering in both colours. With time, the style of the Estate is becoming more subtle and the entire range will improve even more!
