Domaine Plageoles

Domain presentation

Domaine Plageoles

In 1983, at the heart of the Gaillac appellation and in the family vineyard, Bernard Plageoles made his very first vinification. Today, the vineyard covers 35 hectares, divided between the villages of Cahuzac sur Vère, Montels and Castelnau de Montmiral. No less than fourteen autochthonal grape varieties have been planted and the vines have been, since 2007, processed in organic farming. Among all, there is an ancestral Gaillac variety, magnified by the Plageoles: the ondenc. The vines, grafted by the grandfather and cut into cups, are the pride of the family. Bernard Plageoles does not hesitate to compare it to the Chenin grapes, for its ability to be worked in all ways (the grape is able to develop the bloom and to produce bubbles, dried or even soft) The Ondenc cuvée is a demonstration of balance and purity. If the aroma is often sweet and exotic (candied fruits, quince jelly), it is the freshness of the mouth that seduces us.
