Domaine de la Tournelle

Evelyn and the late Pascal Clairet have been the Domaine de la Tournelle, in Arbois since 1991. The eight-hectare Estate is a real cluster of small fertile slots. Ever since they arrived, the winegrowers promised themselves to guide their vines (mostly massal selection) using biodynamic principles. Therefore, composted manure, cow horn manure and other natural preparations replace the use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. The soils are regularly scrapped so the earth can « breathe ». The organic farming certification, obtained in 2010, vouched for their philosophy. Careful not to alter the quality of their grapes, Evelyne and Pascal follow through with their commitments at the cellar, where fermentations are triggered using indigenous yeasts and without added sulphites, until bottling. We are seduced by the bright tension and stability of the juices we have tasted. The ageing on lees will allow the wines to stand the test of time but they already bear such vibrancy that they are electrifying!
