Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay

Living in the village of Chassagne-Montrachet, Philippe Duvernay has been peacefully running the Coffinet-Duvernay Domaine since 1989. Benefiting from his experience of past vintages, the winegrower has truly refined the character of the six-hectare Estate. Since his arrival, the vines haven’t received weedkillers, and the soils now undergo regular ploughings. Regarding winemaking, Philippe prefers gentle pressing, fast must racking, and long ageing in barrels. Depending on the cuvée and vintage’s profile, the winegrower will use a variable proportion of new oak, up to 75%. While the wines are exposed to lees stirring during winter, they endure no transfer. The winemaker attaches great importance to the work on reduction during the wine’s « build up ».
