The producer

Domaine Drouhin-Laroze

The History of Domaine Laroze began in 1850 with the creation, by Jean Baptiste Laroze, of the farm in Gevrey Chambertin. Today, the children Christine and Philippe Drouhin represent the sixth generation at the head of the 11.5 hectares of vineyards, distributed between the villages of Chambolle Musigny and Gevrey Chambertin. The estate has an exceptional climat of burgundy heritage, with six large vintages. Strong of this earthly treasure, the winemakers create wines of great delicacy. Among the climates to keep in mind is the Gevrey Premier Cru «Lavaut Saint Jacques». The plot is located in the northern part of the village just before the Combe which has the same name. When tasting, this wine is always tonic and frank, a tart delicacy. The Grand Cru Clos de Vougeot is located in the westernmost part of the climate. These rows of vines were once reserved for the Popes of Avignon’s personal consumption.
