Domaine Jean-Paul & Benoît Droin

The year 1999 marked the takeover of the Estate by Benoît Droin, son of Jean-Paul. The Estate was then composed of 18 hectares. Benoit bought another seven, thus broadening the estate's already rich vegetal heritage. As a matter of fact, Domaine Droin owns no less than 4 hectares in Grand Cru, and 11 hectares in Premier Cru. A proud heir of these so precious vines, Benoît develops the work of the soils, and keeps the grass between the ranks on the entirety of the Estate. The Estate is closely involved in the ageing processes, that differ with every cru. It is interesting to note that the Grand Cru Blanchot is aged in vats, in order to moderate the power of this legendary soil. The wines are pleasant and greedy, and they generaly open as soon as the first year after bottling.
