"The strongest effort from Canon since 1982 and before 2009, the 2007 (75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc) exhibits a dark ruby/purple color along with a beautiful bouquet of crushed rocks, boysenberries, blueberries, black raspberries, and licorice. The soft tannins, classic feel and texture, and medium to full-bodied, lengthy finish with no hard edges make for an enjoyable, potentially complex wine to drink over the next 15 years." Robert M. The producer
Château Canon
Château Canon is a First Growth, ranked B, in the 2006 Classification of Saint-Emilion wines. With one of the finest terroir of the Appellation, the Estate covers 34 hectares, planted with 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet-Franc. Owned by the Wertheimer family, it is run by Nicolas Audebert, who has been conducting important works in the vineyard and in the cellars, in order to achieve the best possible quality. Ultimately, the proportion of Cabernet Franc should reach approximately 35% of the blend.
