Champagne R. Pouillon & Fils

The Pouillon Estate was established in 1947 and consists of 6.5 hectares of vineyards in the Marne Valley. In total, 36 plots are divided between the fabulous terroirs of Aÿ, Mareuil sur Aÿ and Epernay. The pinot noir is widely represented, and the tasting of the house's champagnes allows us to see in it a unique style: a bubble full of flesh and vinous, with an oriental character and slightly oxidative (reserve wines benefit from a long growth in barrel). Chardonnay is however not in vain, a tribute is paid to it through the cuvée «Les Valnons» from a plot on the clay-limestone soil of Aÿ Grand Cru. The Blanc de Blancs is structured and broad of shoulders, and is perfect for all fish in sauce dishes.
