Domaine Pierre Ménard

Pierre Ménard has been installled in Faye d'Anjou since 2013. After several experiences of vinifications across the world (Portugal, Hungary, Canada or New Zealand), the winegrower took over his parent's Estate. A rising star in black Anjou, the man has first and foremost a passion for astronomy. The lunar cycles actually marks the rythm of the vines, and each step in vinification after that, until the precious drink is obtained. They are reflections of the identity of a given plot, and sometimes bear the name of planets, or stars. The first single-vineyard that marked the creation of the Estate was a 2000 square meter plot, located on the village of Faye d'Anjou. It will give birth to the cuvée "Le Quart des Noëls", a chenin that draws it full mineral expression from the degraded schale soils (with a presence of metamorphic stones). The vision of Pierre for chenin is a clear reflection of this precious soil nature: it should be as pure as possible!
