Champagne A. Bergère has established itself as an essential reference among the new generation of Champagne growers, illustrating a remarkable synthesis between the scale of a historic estate and the precision of an artisanal approach. With a land inheritance of 45 hectares, the estate's philosophy is resolutely focused on micro-vinification and the pure expression of the terroir, a vision embodied by the current generation. Since 2014, the estate has gained new momentum, driven by Adrien Bergère taking the reins. Drawing on his oenology background, he has restructured production around the principles of plot-by-plot viticulture, wood aging, and non-intervention, transforming the potential of a large vineyard into a collection of sculpted and technical cuvées. The overall grape distribution is dominated by Chardonnay (70%), complemented by 20% Pinot Noir and 10% Meunier. Domaine A. Bergère articulates its vineyard philosophy around sustainable and reasoned viticulture. The core of Adrien's philosophy is to reveal his terroirs. To achieve this, plot-by-plot vinification has been established as the system. All 139 plots of the estate are vinified separately with a view to blending. This approach, more common in Burgundy than on a Champagne estate, requires immense cellar logistics. The process culminates with a blind tasting of each plot by Adrien before the final blending. Convinced of the benefits brought by aging under wood, Adrien broke away from a potentially stainless steel-focused vinification to introduce a palette of containers designed to sculpt the wines. Today, the vinification and aging of the wines are done in a combination of stainless steel tanks, oak barrels, and large oak vats (foudres). The A. Bergère range of cuvées is the direct expression of the diversity of the terroirs and the precision of the vinification methods. The Cuvée Origine, composed of 70% Chardonnay, 20% Pinot Noir, and 10% Pinot Meunier, is aged on lees in foudres and barrels. The Cuvée Solera, 100% Chardonnay, comes from a perpetual reserve initiated in 2013. The Cuvée Blanc de Blancs is sourced from the Grands Crus of the villages of Avize, Mesnil, Cramant, Chouilly, and Oger. It is vinified and aged in stainless steel tanks and 228-liter barrels.
